Stare at it...Conquer it

And there will come a time,
you'll see, with no more tears.
And love will not break your heart,
but dismiss your fears.
Get over your hill and see
what you find there,
With grace in your heart
and flowers in your hair.
Mumford and Son's - After the Storm

Fear is debilitating. Fear can cripple you.  We often go on in life not confronting our fears but just pushing them aside.  We think, we believe that if we ignore them they will vanish.  But they don't.  Our fears might be tucked way deep down in the hole of our souls but one day they will come to light.  We must confront them and conquer them before they conquer us.

Many of us try to cover our fears by not speaking of them or by taking the "other" route to avoid them.  Everyone has a choice.  It took time for me to stare at my fear.  This girl with brown hair, brown eyes and a beautiful smile knew she had huge wings but was afraid to fly.  Afraid to sore for she might hurt someone in the process.  She was afraid of failure.  She was afraid of what people would say.

But who isn't?

I am not the only one who has fears but I am one of the few that has chosen to overcome them.  To conquer them.  It's not an easy process.  A person can't heal their hearts in a short period of time.  It takes patience.  It takes courage.  It takes something deep down inside of us to open our eyes and accept the things we do not know.   Fear of the unknown is the greatest fear of most but for me the unknown is my challenge.  I'm excited about the unknown.  Grateful that whatever is it I will SORE.

Look at fear as a challenge or as a motivator.  Climb each step one by one until you are at the top smiling and laughing with your hands in the air saying "Wow, it wasn't so bad after all."

Happy

Happiness is a conscious choice, not an automatic response.
- Mildred Bathel

Happiness is an emotion that flows freely from me now a days .  I have chosen happiness. I've made a conscious choice to be happy.  In my mind I relived the moments when I was the happiest.  I went back to when  I was a child.

What makes me happy?

What made me happy as a child?

Why do we as adults forget to do the things that made us happy as children?

We focus on success, status and money thinking that those things will bring forth happiness. Happiness is internal.  Yes, you can have success, status and money and be happy but you also don't need those things to make you happy.  Happiness comes from within.  I've seen people in what some would think to be the worst circumstances: homelessness, divorce, uemployment to radiate so much happiness then the one who thinks they have it all with materialistic things.

I believe happiness is a choice. You can always find something positive in what appears to be a negative situation.  I have done so.  I have changed the way I process my thoughts.  I have grown.  Sure you can have moments of sadness or loneliness but let them be just that...Moments.  I believe that what brings forth happiness is gratitude in all things.

Simplicity, family, writing, laughter, reading, nature, photography and my love for doing for others is what inspires me to remain happy.  These are the same things that made me happy as a child.

What makes you Happy?

Do it.  Make a choice to be happy.
